Jabra 930MS setup with Dragon 15

We bundle a lot of the Jabra 930 MS wireless digital headsets with the new Dragon NaturallySpeaking 15 software, because the Jabra 930 is a very accurate, reliable wireless headset. This headset only works with  Dragon Professional 15, and Dragon Medical Practice Edition . This headset will not work with Dragon home.

However, some of our customers are having some minor difficulties setting up the headset.
Normally you would expect any device to work with the default Windows drivers with Dragon NaturallySpeaking 15. However, the Jabra 930 MS requires you to install a small driver package that is not included in the package. There is a card in the box that tells you to go to a website for the download -no driver disk is included. This is an oversight on behalf of Jabra in my opinion, the drivers should be included in the box.

If you do not install this driver software package from Jabra, the headset will simply not work with Dragon NaturallySpeaking 15. This is very frustrating for new users.

So here’s a quick walk-through about how to get the Jabra 930 MS to work with Dragon NaturallySpeaking 15.

Visit the Jabra website:

You need to install the Jabra driver to get the headset up and running. There is a download link mentioned in the manual.

Go to the Jabra 930 Official Website:

Click on “JABRA PC SUITE”

Install and when it asks – tell it to always run at startup.

Now  look at the image to the right.
Right click on the yellow bar and Open the audio link AND Open the communications link.
If you do not do this, the Jabra 930 will not work with any third party software like Dragon 15.

That should now open the audio link to windows for good and work with Dragon NaturallySpeaking 13 every-time from now on.

So now we need to configure Dragon 13 with the new wireless headset

In Dragon 15 click “PROFILE” then “MANAGE DICTATION SOURCES” and select the Jabra 930. Run the audio check and you are now set for good.

This is a high-quality DECT digital noise cancelling wireless headset from Jabra. It delivers very high accuracy with Dragon NaturallySpeaking, very high battery life and has a very long range compared to Bluetooth microphones. The only downside to this headset is that it requires a 240 V plug at the base station to charge the device. That’s okay if you have a desktop computer, but if you’re using a laptop, notebook or tablet Windows PC then dragging around the 240 V plug is quite annoying.
